Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

Everyone should have a chicken wing recipe at their disposal, and this one is minimal effort with the same crunch as a fried wing. Perfect for gamely ;)

Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

For about 24 wings

Ingredients

- 3 lbs chicken wings (~24)

- 2 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- 1/2 tsp garlic powder

- 1/2 tsp paprika

- 1/2 cup favorite wing sauce (I'm using Frank's Red Hot)

- 1 tbsp butter

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 450ºF. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil, then place a cooling rack over top.

  2. Using a paper towel, pat dry the 3 lbs wings well, then add to a large bowl. Mix together the 2 tsp baking powder, salt and spices together in a small bowl. Sprinkle the wings with the spice mix and mix until evenly coated.

  3. Line the chicken wings on the cooling rack on top of the baking tray. Do your best to make sure they aren't touching, it will help them stay crispy. Bake for 30 minutes.

  4. Take wings out of the oven and, using tongs, flip the wings 180º so the not-crisped side is facing up. Bake another 25 minutes.

  5. In the meantime, add 1/2 cup of your sauce of choice to a large mixing bowl. Melt 1 tbsp of butter and add to the mixing bowl. Mix butter and sauce together until emulsified. This will help the sauce coat the wings and make it more velvety.

  6. Once the wings are cooked let cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then add the the large mixing bowl filled with your sauce mixture. Toss until all wings coated evenly. Enjoy!!
